A. This photo is the most powerful, because this moment of someone that is close to you leaving to become a soldier has happened to me before. And for me that is very traumatic and scary. That is why seeing this photo of two grown men that cry for there buddy makes me think back on that moment.
B. Images 1-7 take place in Denver, Ian's home.
Images 8-50 were taken in basic training.
Images 51-70 were taken in Iraq.
Images 71-83 were taken when Ian came back home.
The most powerful set of images were the images 1-7(Ian leaving Denver), because his leaving caused emotional reactions not only on the people in the photos but in me while looking at them.
C. The Images work together by being put into chronological order. If i just looked at the photo above without other before and after I probably would react in a totally different way.

A. The captions under each photo are written in third person present tense.
B. The captions enhance the each photo by explaining what's going on and maybe even some back ground information on each one.

Ian blinks as his new Army clothes are thrown into his bag.
Saluting to his country on command, Ian looks to his side for his officer.
