The Camera






Vocabulary:
Parallax- is a movement or difference in the apparent area of an object viewed along two different lines of sight.
gamut- is a certain complete subset of colors.
light-emitting diode (LED)- is a semiconductor light source.
pellicle mirror- a thin mirror that reduces light intensity.


Vocabulary:

aperture- is a hole or an opening through which light travels.
shutter- is a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, to capture a permanent image.
exposure-controls the amount of light that enters the camera during a period of time.
depth of field (DOF)-  is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
f-stop- of a visible system is the ratio of the lens's focal length to the diameter of the entrance pupil.  
focal length-  of an imaged system is a measure of how strongly the system divides light.
